I remember a time when it was easy to define oneself in one's values and ideals. The lines were clear between good and evil. Truths were monolithic, and one rarely deviated from one's convictions.

Then everything became blurred, revealing the contradictions inherent in this lack of subtlety. And that's where we ended up.
